The Vascular Intermediate Medical Unit (VIMU) is a high-acuity intermediate care unit that cares for medical and surgical vascular patients that need a high level of monitoring. The patient to nurse staffing ratio is 3:1. Vascular and endovascular surgical patients undergoing Carotid Endarterectomy, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, and patients on Thrombolytic are examples of some of the type of patients that are cared for on this unit. The team consists of highly specialized and dedicated individuals.
With the opening of 3 additional beds today there are now 6 VIMU beds total. Congratulations!
