Dr. Upchurch welcomed Dr. Samuel R. Money as our Kenneth Cherry, MD Lecturer during Surgery Grand Rounds on March 30, 2016.  Dr. Money is currently Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Consultant for the Division of Vascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.

The title of his presentation was “Lessons Learned in Business School

Bio

Dr. Samuel R. Money is a Professor of Surgery in the College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic and serves as the Chair of the Department of the Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.  He joined Mayo in 2006 and has been a Consultant in the Division of Vascular Surgery since that time.

Born in New York City, he received his M.D. degree from SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn New York. Surgical training was at Kings County Hospital, with Vascular Fellowship at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana. He received his MBA at the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.

Dr. Money has served in various leadership capacities in numerous professional societies and as a reviewer and editorial board member for various journals.

He has published over 150 articles and book chapters related to the vascular surgery field.
