Radhika Rastogi, MD
2nd Year Resident
Medical School: Wayne State University
I’m from the metro Detroit area in Michigan and went to school at Wayne State University in midtown Detroit for both my undergraduate in biomedical engineering and for medical school. My interests are varied and span reading fantasy, listening to international music, watching ice hockey, travelling, and exploring the beautiful nature in and around Charlottesville with my coresidents! I am undecided and very open to my field of surgery though I favor HPB, surgical oncology, and transplant right now. When I interviewed at UVA, I was struck by the rapport of the residents with each other and with the attendings. Coming here, I have found a robust training program that is made unparalleled by the people in the program. I absolutely love my co-residents who have become my friends and pillars of support as well as the attendings who are amazing teachers and mentors and shockingly approachable in all elements of life, training and patient care. Moreover, the beauty of Charlottesville, with amazing hiking trails and gorgeous weather has brought color to life outside the hospital as well. I hope you have the opportunity to see how great our program is too!
