Kimia Kashkooli, MD
1st Year Resident
Medical School: Tufts University
I was born in Iran and lived there until the age of 7, after which I moved to Maine. I chose UVA for residency for the awesome academic residency program, warmer weather, the ease and cost of living, and to be closer to family. But most of all, what attracted me to UVA was the people! Next year I will be joining the anesthesiology residency as an advanced candidate, but have really enjoyed my surgery intern year so far. On my weekends off I like to drive to DC to visit my sister in the city, go surfing at Virginia beach, or climb in the New River Gorge in WV.
