UVA Surgery resident Anthony Normon

Research Resident
Medical School: Tufts University

Hey everyone! My name is Anthony Norman. I was raised in Chelsea, MA, which is just north of Boston. I grew up playing basketball and swimming, but also dabbled in the performing arts. I attended Boston College for my undergraduate studies where I majored in biology. I subsequently spent a year doing clinical outcomes research in cardiac surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital before attending Tufts University School of Medicine.
When I interviewed at UVA, the stellar residents captured my attention immediately. Not only were they incredibly accomplished and confident in their skills, but they were warm and welcoming. I remember talking with them and it felt like I had known them for years. I knew UVA was the place where I had to be.

My gut instinct was correct! I have loved my time at UVA. I’m currently using my academic time to conduct research in cardiothoracic surgery while pursuing a masters in clinical research. When I’m not in the hospital, I enjoy traveling, cooking, running, and spending time with my wife and son.
