Chief Resident
Medical School: Tufts University

My name is Alec Shannon. I am from outside Pittsburgh, PA. I am an avid Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates fan. I despise (in no particular order) the Flyers, Capitals, Rangers, Ravens, Bungles, and Patriots (I just feel bad for Browns fans). I try to go to as many UVA football and basketball games as humanly possible. I played hockey at Cornell, and I enjoy playing beer league adult hockey around Charlottesville and Richmond. I am a big fan of $3 cheeseburger day at Trinity Irish Pub (every Thursday). I frequent the Fitzroy on free weekends. I spent two years in the Peace Corps after college in the small West African country of Benin. I speak French, badly. Both my parents are doctors (cardiologist and nephrologist). I spent the last two years researching aortic aneurysms. I am interested in vascular, thoracic, or transplant.
